I’m Kam Franqui, and I’m thrilled to help you or your child discover the joy of music through private piano lessons. With over 30 years of teaching experience, I know firsthand how transformative learning to play music can be. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I’d love to guide you on your musical journey.
About Me
I began my formal training at the age of 8 with private piano lessons and picked up the cello the following year. By 12, I was chosen by the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra as the top cellist in my school. At 15, while still mastering Beethoven Sonatas, I started teaching private lessons—and I’ve never stopped.Teaching has always been my calling. Music is such a powerful way to express oneself, and helping others unlock that potential has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. Beyond music, I’ve also dedicated five years of my life to humanitarian work in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, which deeply shaped my approach to teaching and connecting with others.Over the years, I’ve taught at a variety of studios across the U.S., including Union Music in Worcester, MA, Chuck’s Music in New Milford, CT, Acadiana Academy of Music in Lafayette, LA, and The Music Box in Lafayette, LA. While I enjoyed teaching in studio settings, I’ve found that students thrive when they learn in their own homes—it creates a comfortable, natural environment that fosters accelerated learning.
